SIGRITY Unified Package Designer
Basic Training
Learn to create BGA Packaging designs using Sigrity's UPD application.
The objective is to complete a small BGA demo design during the labs. This
class offers an overview of the Unified Package Designer (UPD) system and BGA
process technologies, from library creation to outputs. The course is
structured in a lecture/lab style, allowing students maximum on-system
practice. Terminology and general design strategies are covered along with
automatic wire bonding, automatic routing and complex geometries.
Course Objectives
Learn UPD GUI menus system/storage
Create library objects for each design
Create design setup preference, rules, and netlist
Create geometry objects, rings, gate metal areas
Generate wire bonding
Use all auto routes and manual trace editor
Check all design rules
Finalize the design, create teardrops, documentation, reports and
listing
Output your design using Gerber, DXF, DSII, and DRILL
Complete a small BGA wire bonded design
