PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
SPEED2000 is a power and signal integrity software tool with a built-in fast electromagnetic field solver for high-speed chip carriers and printed circuit boards. It utilizes state-of-the-art simulation techniques which are particularly suitable for IC packages and printed circuit boards and have been granted two U.S. patents. The extremely efficient techniques used in SPEED2000 make the simulation of electromagnetic wave propagation in multiple power and ground planes orders of magnitude faster than conventional algorithms. In its simulations, SPEED2000 takes into account various electromagnetic interactions within packages. During real-time computation, it displays animation of signal and noise waveforms, including spatial distributions of power and ground fluctuations. Applications of SPEED2000 include analysis of power and ground distribution systems, determination of optimum decoupling capacitor placement, evaluation of signal current return path discontinuities, simultaneous switching noise analysis, and prediction of electromagnetic field radiation. Complemented by interfaces with other major EDA vendor tools, SPEED2000 can be used for pre- and post-layout analysis, what-if comparisons for optimizing electrical performances of real-world designs.

With the rapid increase of speed in integrated-circuit operation and data transmission of the internet, the design of integrated-circuit packages and printed circuit boards increasingly depends upon software tools which can take into account various electromagnetic coupling and interferences. Without these tools, it is difficult to design and evaluate power, ground and signal distribution systems. It is also difficult to determine the noise distribution and to ascertain ways to reduce the noise. Conventional general-purpose electromagnetic field solvers require formidable computer resources and are impractical to analyze entire chip carriers and printed circuit broads. Using built-in fast electromagnetic field solvers designed specially for electronic packaging structures, SIGRITY’s tools reveal mysterious electromagnetic coupling and interactions within packages with drastically reduced simulation time. SIGRITY products are available directly from its headquarters and through its distributors worldwide to companies, universities and research labs involved in analysis, design and research of integrated-circuit packages and printed circuit boards. SIGRITY partners with several EDA vendors to integrate SIGRITY’s products with their tools.

BACKGROUND
Founded in 1994. SIGRITY’s first product, SPEED97, was released at the end of 1997, followed by a major upgrade, SPEED2000, in mid-2000. SIGRITY is a privately held corporation with its headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, USA.
