Sigrity Announces New PowerSI –
Spatial Mode Software Module

today announced the release of PowerSI – Spatial Mode
software, a new add-on module that significantly enhances
the current capabilities of the company’s PowerSI
electrical analysis tool.
The new software solution enables advanced analysis
of power delivery and signal integrity in high-density
integrated circuit (IC) packages and high-speed printed
circuit boards (PCBs).
The
PowerSI – Spatial Mode tool performs electrical analysis
on circuits that contain various independent AC sources and
obtains spatial variations of voltages across planes as well
as voltages and currents in circuit components and physical
structures such as vias and traces. PowerSI
software is optimized for frequency-domain analysis and
complements the time-domain capabilities of Sigrity’s
flagship product, SPEED2000 power and signal integrity
analysis tool. The
PowerSI base module operates in the “Extraction Mode”
providing easy, convenient extraction of N-port S, Z and Y
network parameters in a single run.
PowerSI – Spatial Mode software
module provides the following advantages.
- Enables multiple sources of different magnitudes
to be placed at various physical locations.
- Provides easy and convenient assessment of
spatial voltage distributions across the entire
structure.
- Enables quick identification of “hot areas”
and corresponding frequencies where peak values occur.
- Facilitates the determination of desired
characteristics of decoupling capacitors at the most
appropriate locations.
- Directly provides frequency-domain responses of
voltages and currents in various circuit and physical
structure components.
Pricing and Availability
PowerSI – Spatial Mode software is available to ship on
June 16, 2003 as an add-on option for PowerSI users or a bundled product
with the PowerSI base module as a perpetual or time-based
license on the Windows platform.
